Friday morning, we went down to the beach for a little running/walking. I discovered an almond tree there which was pretty neat. Then Stacy Landwehr picked us up and we went to their place for coffee and talk. This was the view you can see from their back porch! Pinch me, I must be dreaming!
On our way back to the Spiegelberg's home, Stacy drove us one block down their road. There is a beautiful little hotel complete with a beach which they seem to have access to whenever they'd like! Can you imagine having access to this beauty all the time?
Some of my previous blogs talk about our trip to the St. Lucian grocery market and our bumpy ride to Donkey Beach. Here are a few more pictures to help chronicle that...
That afternoon, Mark went in with Erik (staff minister) and Pastor Bram (native pastor) for their Friday confirmation class and youth group. Mark got to witness Pastor Bram in his element, talking with neighbors and kids from the neighborhood. He is a good street evangelist and is very good with the children.
This room with the bright yellow/orange wall is also where they have the preschool throughout the week. On Friday afternoons, they break down the preschool and set up for confirmation classes and then for church on Sundays. Once they get the upstairs of their building completed, they will no longer have to set up and break down between weekly activities.
They are the only Lutheran church on the island and this building is only about a year old.
